Print is not dead, it just smells funny
Impressions from the book fair "Minipresse" in Mainz
For four days every two years Gutenberg-city Mainz becomes the meeting point of mini presses, small publishers, hand press and authors. 360 exhibitors from over 15 countries as well as 10.000 visitors meet at Mainz´s mini-press-fair to form the biggest trading platform for small published books and artistic press prints.
Beside contemporary book arts in all its aspects Mainz´s mini-press-fair presents young independent-publishers from 13 European countries. The fair offers an extensive framework program consisting poetry slams, readings, workshops, performances, seminars and exhibitions.
What impressed us: Frankfurt´s artist Kerstin Lichtblau with her eye girl. The art project ARTIC from Dortmund – Texts from a happy science. From Berlin: Bongoût Edition, a screen print- and design studio which amongst others prints and publishes Marcus Nyblom. The postcard edition (wooden cuts) of Heike Küster (bathing cap pressure, finally table fireworks, ready to beam).
