Third Issue – Self Publishing Fair For Design And Art

Running parallel to the Book Fair, participants of „Third Issue“ will explore the boundariesbetween design and print on Oct 11-12 at the MMK in Frankfurt from 12 a.m. through 6 p.m.
During the Fair 30 young publishing houses will show their most creative books, magazines and fanzines. The „Issue – Self Publishing Fair for Design and Art“ accompanies the Book Fair every year, attracting around 800 young visitors from Germany and abroad.
This year’s main events will include a talk by publisher and printer Gerhard Steidl, who became more known to a culturally interested audience through through the documentary „How to make a book with Steidl“. The book producer and connoisseur will talk about his approach to producing books as a total artwork.
Also, there will be a relaunch of the magazine „form“. Editor in chief Stephan Ott and Berlin designers Heimann und Schwantes will present the new orientation of the design magazine. The curator and art historian Dorothea Strauss will give a theoretical talk, as will Eva Linhart, curator of the Museum Angewandte Kunst’s department of book art. Petra Schmidt and Sandra Doeller of Frankfurt’s Design-Verein will moderate together with Jakob Hoffmann. Of course we’ll be presenting our nuuna collection at the Self Publishing Fair for Design and Art, too. Come and join us!
