Stylish or outlandish? Classic or playful? With the right belly band, you can have both at the same time. Two examples: The grey notebook that we produced for the Danish Design Agency Yndlingsting with its flexcover of raw bonded leather is naturally puristic. Various belly bands made of recycling paper with mood-visuals from nature combine the reserved look with a genuine highlight. Also the single-colored Summer Notes books for the Lifestyle Magazine Monocle would come across as completely unexciting if it wasn’t for the wide belly band of transparent paper: printed with a white checkered pattern, it gives the cover a fresh summer flair. The good thing is: As soon as you have seen enough of that extra, simply remove it and voilà – a completely classic notebook.
